Our mission statement

The North London Reading Group is a community network of more than 20 reading groups across London.

We support this community by offering access to literary resources, which may not otherwise be available to them, and encouraging independent readers and book groups to expand their literary horizons.

We do this by:

  • offering smaller, independent publishers and lesser known writers the opportunity to engage with these readers for mutual benefit
  • providing the North London Reading Group website and related online sites, as a community forum for its members to share knowledge and information
  • arranging a number of literary events throughout the year, at reasonable cost for the benefit of its members.

Who runs the North London Reading Group?

The North London Reading Group is run by volunteers with the aim of providing the services as listed above, and is not run on the basis of making huge profits.

Of any profits made, a percentage is re-invested in to local London literary charities, or to encourage reading. Additional profits are used to continue providing services for the North London Reading Group community.
